The Owl Creeks Internet Debut: pt. 3
Hey there, internet! We’re the Owl Creeks, Kenyon College’s all-female contemporary a cappella group, and we’d like to say helloooooo!
I wish we could say that this was our actual internet debut, but we’ve actually been on the world wide web before, with some less-than-stellar results. There is currently an archived Owl Creeks website from the early 2000s, with a lot of really awkward inside jokes and references to popular TV shows of the day (The Sopranos!) and even more awkward early-2000s fashion choices. This year, at the urging of our musical director and president, our beautiful newbie Ally Schmaling designed us a super fancy official website, only to have the web hosting company ask us to pay 30,000 Euros per moment to put it online. “NOPE!”, we all said, and so we’re doing this for free on the Tumblr! (Tumblr!? YOU brought her! Enough, Beth. Enough.)
Unlike most Tumblrrgs, this will not be a collection of black-and-white-hipster-model shots interspersed with gifs of sloths and really vague, accusatory text posts (“I just wish someone could understand what it’s like”) alongside Neutral Milk Hotel lyrics. We’re going to use this site to upload our videos, post sUpErR sExXxY pIxX of our beautiful members, and provide some pertinent info about auditions, concerts, and other cool stuff. Oh, and pictures of owls. Definitely owls.
Please follow us, reblog our vidzz if you like them, and ask us anything you need to know! Except for advice about trying to date a Kokosinger—we wouldn’t recommend it. Trust us.
